UPDATE - DESPITE COVID-19 - we are COMPLETELY OPEN & FULLY FUNCTIONAL !
Dear Clients and Potential Clients -
As the impacts of COVID-19 continue to spread, we at the Law Offices of Laura Huffman have taken active measures to prioritize your and our well-being, while continuing to meet your legal needs.
Laura has worked “remotely” since 2006 and is completely operational away from the physical “office”. This allows us to continue to deliver quality and exceptional legal services to our clients.
We may not see each other as often but we can completely process your claim (even notarize your documents!) through the use of technology. For clients with current or pending litigation matters, the Workers’ Compensation Board has indicated that hearings will proceed “virtually”. Should we receive a hearing notice regarding your matter, we will be in touch with you to outline the safest, most effective way for us to handle the hearing. We are continuing to monitor this situation and will keep you informed of changes.
If you have or believe you have contracted (or have a loved one lost due to) Covid-19 from your work, you should immediately
1) Report this (preferably in writing) to your supervisor/employer,
2) File a claim with the Workers' Compensation Board (called an Employee Claim Form C-3)
3) Seek medical diagnosis and advice from a medical provider.
4) Be sure to keep all documentation and copies of forms you file or receive.
In times like these, both business & personal relationships are more important than ever. We look forward to continuing to serve you and we wish you safety and good health. In order to get ahold of us please continue to call, email, fax (or at last resort snail mail) correspondence to our attention.
Be safe, be well - Laura
